I got this email from a customer:

Apparently there was a problem in sending out some emails.

As a result a pop up window appeared – “Outlook Send/Receive Progress” – that is filled with 17 or 18 tasks that have not been completed.

I have tried canceling the blasted thing every which way and it keeps appearing every minute or so.

What should I do?

This usually happens when the "top" message in the outbox has a problem. It stops all the others from going out behind it. So if you can manage to delete that message, the others should send ok.
